About Us

The Beginning

My name is Tim, I'm one of the co-founders of 60 Seconds of Safety™.  About 12 years ago, I was working as a Safety Trainer, teaching management within Government how to investigate safety incidents. Ever since I was 19 years old, my life had focused on investigations, firstly as a police officer, then a private investigator and finally a safety investigator.

In 2010, I saw my first hand-drawn video, created by RSA Animate in the UK. It was so easy to understand and a light bulb went off inside my head! This was the video format that should be used to deliver safety training. Within a year I'd left the Government, incorporated a company and, as they say, the rest is history.

When I was studying for my safety qualifications I was shown the 'Remember Charlie' video, the story of Charlie Morecraft who received burns to 45% of his body after a refinery explosion. After watching the video, Charlie became my inspiration!

Charlie had had a complete disregard for safety until this life-changing event. When he recovered he dedicated his life to spreading the word of safety and taking responsibility for your own actions.

In 2016 we launched 60 Seconds of Safety™ at the National Safety Council Congress in Anaheim, Orange County, CA. There, I was fortunate enough to meet Charlie and spend time with this inspirational man.

Saving Lives, One Video at a Time.

Our mission statement is, "Saving Lives, One Video at a Time" because at 60 Seconds of Safety™ we believe hand-drawn videos can impact on workers' lives. They are easy to understand, enjoyable to watch, the message is remembered and the worker has engaged.

And we also believe, when a worker engages with a hand-drawn safety video, they learn about safety and when they learn about safety, they start to take responsibility for their own actions. Engaging workers equals safer workplaces.
